Sydney Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
I am an Obstetrician and Gynaecologist whose primary focus is providing individualised, woman-centred care. I am compassionate and caring and I am dedicated to listening to my patients so that we can formulate a collaborative evidence-based care plan that best suits your needs.
I completed my medical studies at the University of Sydney and I vividly remember the first baby I helped deliver during my medical school women’s health rotation – in that moment I fell in love with O&G. My experience as a junior doctor further confirmed by passion for women’s health and I worked hard and was accepted for specialty training with RANZCOG. I undertook my basic O&G specialty training at John Hunter, Maitland, and Tamworth hospitals. I then completed a further two years of advanced training at Liverpool Hospital focusing on management of high-risk pregnancies including pregnancies complicated by medical disorders, twins and vaginal birth after caesarean. I further developed my gynaecological operative skills including skills in laparoscopic and open surgery. I completed my specialist training and became a consultant in 2022.
Obstetrics is my passion – it still brings me so much joy more than 10 years into my O&G career. The journey through antenatal care allows me to develop a relationship with a family – I share in the anticipation of labour and birth and the overwhelming joy and love when a baby is born. I have a calm and confident bedside manner where I can provide evidence-based care and I work collaboratively with the family with the woman at the centre of all plans and decisions. When the outcomes of pregnancy are poor, I maintain my compassion and support the family through the difficult time.
Currently I am a Staff Specialist at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital and a VMO at Liverpool and St. George Private Hospitals. I am also a Conjoint Lecturer for UNSW and am heavily involved in medical student and junior doctor training and supervision.
When I’m not at work my husband and I are busy raising our two young sons and caring for our energetic Cavoodle, Rosie. My family immigrated to Australia from Brazil when I was six years old. I am grateful to my parents for maintaining out Brazilian heritage and language and therefore I am also able to consult in Portuguese.
“I am passionate about helping women improve their quality of life by providing individualised care. I love it when women tell me they feel heard, that their concerns have been validated, that I have provided them with options and solutions.”
